A brass hose mender splices two cut hose ends back together, which is the fix you need when a hose gets damaged mid-length rather than at the connection point. How to Repair a Damaged Air Hose

Diagnose Where the Damage Is

A damaged thread or connection point calls for a brass hose end fitting. A cut or split somewhere in the middle of the hose calls for a mender. Knowing which one you need before you start saves a second trip.

Match the Fitting to Your Hose Diameter

Air hose repair fittings only seal properly when the barb size matches your hose's inner diameter. A fitting that's too small will leak; one that's too large won't seat.

Secure the Connection

Push the hose fully onto the barbed fitting, then crimp a properly sized hose pinch clamp over the connection. A clamp that's undersized won't compress fully; one that's oversized won't hold the seal.

When to Repair vs. Replace the Hose
